The Cornish Ghost II

Due to entanglement in ghost gear, thousands of marine animals are killed or injured every year.

A single abandoned net is estimated to kill over 500,000 marine invertebrates, fish and seabirds.

Series two uses underwater imagery in rockpools located at Castle Beach, Falmouth.

The discarded rope has become tangled in seaweed. Here, it has the potential to trap small invertebrates such as crabs, prawns and starfish.

As algae grows on the plastic, its smell changes and can be mistaken for food by seabirds.
